Wedding Season Is Here!

Oh, don’t you just love summer? Warm nights, pick nicks in the park and about a million weddings to prepare for? And each bride has their own opinion about what flower arrangement she wants. But you, as a professional have some ideas ready to wow the almost-to-be-married couple! What are this year’s trends?

Grey and sturdy greenery

Grey is quickly becoming the new neutral in bridal design, so it is only normal to see this trend come back in the flower arrangements and bouquets. Try olive branches, succulents, dusty miller and eucalyptus to get those wonderful sage grey colored accents. Pair with dusty pinks in dahlia’s or peonies for a dreamy effect.

Wine red

The amazing deep red color of wine is an inspiration for lots of weddings and then we don’t just mean the drinks. This color is an amazing offset for many color palettes. Especially dahlia’s are amazing in this color, showcasing the depth of the petals. Add them to any bouquet for an updated twist.

Old-fashioned is new and trendy

Old fashioned favorites like Zinnia’s and Carnations are making a comeback. But not just the normal versions, but beautiful heirlooms and colorful varieties with for instance more frilly petals have made people more open to these flowers which had a bad reputation before.

Muted and moody

The color scheme for this year is muted and moody, with a few contrasting bright colors to create more dynamic. Latte, moonstone, dusty blue and stormy lavender are more difficult for florists to find, but will give that fantastic modern twist to wedding arrangements. Think subdued, monochromatic and muted bouquets and you will be right on trend.

Greenery

Pantone’s color of the year, Greenery will also be seen in weddings. Not the specific shade, but more greenery in general will decorate weddings all over Finland. Think garlands of foliage to Greenery adorn chairs in the reception, sprigs and twigs to decorate place settings. Or giant chandeliers made of branches?
